Description

The Omega-3 Upgrade Your Pet Has Been Missing

Most (almost all) pets are deficient in omega-3 fatty acids… and even when they are added to food, they are often unstable, poorly absorbed, or already oxidized before they ever reach your pet’s bowl. That is why so many pet parents start searching for omega 3s for pets – but what they often find are products that simply do not deliver the results they are hoping for.

This is where our krill oil changes everything.

Unlike traditional fish oils, the omega-3s in krill oil are naturally bound to phospholipids – the same structure found in your pet’s cell membranes. This allows for dramatically better absorption and utilization in the body.

In simple terms:
More of what you give actually gets used.

Why Krill Oil Over Fish Oil?

Not all omega-3s function the same in the body.

Krill oil delivers:
→ Superior absorption through phospholipid structure
→ Natural antioxidant protection from astaxanthin
→ Better cellular support for brain, skin, heart, and joints
→ A smaller, cleaner source lower on the food chain

This means you can use less oil with greater impact.

Real Benefits You Can See

→ Softer, shinier coats and reduced dandruff
→ Improved mobility and less stiffness
→ Support for kidney and heart health
→ Cognitive support, especially in aging pets
→ Healthier gums and teeth through reduced inflammation

Because omega-3s work at the cellular level, they support multiple systems at once.

Protected From Light, Air & Oxidation

Omega-3 oils are fragile. Exposure to oxygen, light, and heat can cause them to oxidize, reducing their effectiveness and potentially doing more harm than good.

That is why we made very intentional packaging decisions:

→ Amber glass bottle to naturally block damaging light
→ Air-limiting closure to help reduce oxygen exposure with every use
→ 5 mL dosing syringe included for precise, low-air dispensing
→ No plastic container. Which means no microplastics or plastic-leaching bacteria.

Unlike typical bottles that allow repeated air exchange every time you open (or pump) them, this system is designed to limit oxygen exposure over time – helping protect freshness from the first dose to the last.

Because omega-3s do not just need to be high quality… they need to stay that way.

Clean, Sustainable Sourcing

Our krill is:
→ Wild-caught from the Antarctic Ocean
→ Eco-harvested using responsible, regulated fishing practices (less than 1% of the total Antarctic krill biomass is harvested)
→ Sourced from one of the cleanest ecosystems on Earth

Krill are naturally low on the food chain, which means lower risk of toxin accumulation compared to larger fish.

What makes krill oil so beneficial for cats and dogs?

Krill oil is one of the most bioavailable sources of omega-3 fatty acids. Unlike traditional fish oils, the EPA and DHA in krill oil are bound to phospholipids, which means your pet’s body can absorb and use them more efficiently.

These essential fatty acids support:
• Healthy skin and coat
• Joint mobility and comfort
• Heart health
• Brain and cognitive function
• Kidney and immune health

Because of this enhanced absorption, pets often need less krill oil to see noticeable benefits.

How is krill oil different from fish oil?

Most fish oils contain omega-3s in triglyceride form, while krill oil delivers them in phospholipid form – the same structure found in your pet’s cell membranes.

That means:
• Better absorption
• Better delivery into cells
• Less waste

Krill oil also naturally contains astaxanthin, a powerful antioxidant that helps protect the oil from oxidation and supports your pet’s health at the cellular level.

How quickly will I see results in my pet?

Some pet parents notice improvements in skin, coat, and energy within a few days to weeks. For deeper support – like joints, heart, or cognitive function – consistent daily use over 4 to 8 weeks typically provides the best results.

As with any nutritional support, consistency matters.

Is this product clean and safe?

Yes. Our krill oil is sourced from the pristine waters of the Antarctic and undergoes strict quality and purity testing.

It is:
• Free from heavy metals and common ocean contaminants
• Naturally stabilized with antioxidants (no synthetic preservatives needed)
• Carefully handled to maintain freshness and potency

We prioritize purity at every step – from ocean to bottle.

How do you protect the oil from going rancid?

Omega-3 oils are delicate and can oxidize when exposed to air, heat, or light.

That’s why we use:
• High-quality glass bottles (not plastic) to reduce potential toxin exposure
• Naturally occurring astaxanthin to protect the oil
• Careful production and handling practices to maintain freshness

This helps ensure your pet is getting a fresh, effective product – not degraded oil.

Is harvesting krill harmful to whales, penguins, or the ecosystem?

This is one of the most important questions to us – and we’re glad you asked.

Krill harvesting in the Antarctic is one of the most tightly regulated fisheries in the world. It is managed under strict international guidelines designed to protect the entire ecosystem.

Key points:
• Less than 1% of the total krill biomass is harvested annually
• Large buffer zones protect feeding areas for whales, seals, and penguins
• Continuous monitoring ensures long-term sustainability

Our source uses a modern mid-water harvesting technique designed to minimize environmental impact and maximize traceability and catch accuracy. Scientific studies estimate bycatch at just 0.2–0.3%, among the lowest of any fishery globally.

Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certified:

MSC is an international non-profit organization that recognizes and rewards efforts to protect ocean ecosystems and ensure sustainable seafood supplies AQC holds MSC certification for the Antarctic krill fishery.

Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP) certified:

SFP is a global nonprofit working to promote sustainability and transparency in seafood supply chains. For six consecutive years, the Antarctic krill fishery received an “A” rating from SFP for biomass health, the only reduction fishery globally to achieve this rating.

In its 2025 global review of over 2,500 marine fishery resources, the most comprehensive assessment of its kind, the FAO classified the Antarctic krill fishery as sustainably fished, crediting the strict management framework governing the fishery.

When sourced responsibly, krill oil can be one of the most sustainable marine omega-3 options available.

Where does your krill come from?

Our krill is wild-caught from the Antarctic Ocean – one of the cleanest marine environments on Earth.

We work with a responsible krill fishery that follows strict sustainability standards to ensure both purity and environmental protection.

Why does the source of omega-3s matter?

Not all omega-3s are created equal.

The source impacts:
• Absorption in the body
• Risk of contaminants
• Stability of the oil
• Overall effectiveness

Krill oil’s unique structure and clean sourcing make it one of the most efficient and trusted omega-3 options for pets.

Can I give this to both cats and dogs?

Yes! This formula is safe and beneficial for both cats and dogs when used as directed.

Because it is a pure oil (not a capsule), it can be easily added to your pet’s food for daily support.

Does my pet really need omega-3 supplementation?

The overwhelming majority of pets do not get enough biologically available omega-3s from their food alone.

Even when omega-3s are listed on pet food labels, they are often:
• Degraded during processing
• Present in insufficient amounts
• Not in a highly absorbable form

Supplementing helps ensure your pet is getting the support their body needs.

Will this help with dry skin or dandruff?

Yes, omega-3 fatty acids are essential for skin health.

They help:
• Reduce dryness and flakiness
• Support a healthy skin barrier
• Improve coat softness and shine

Many pet parents notice visible improvements in coat quality within days to weeks.

Is krill oil safe for long-term use?

Yes. Omega-3 fatty acids are essential nutrients, meaning your pet’s body needs them regularly.

When used as directed, krill oil is safe for daily, long-term use and provides ongoing support for overall health.

How should I store this product?

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Because we use protective packaging and natural antioxidants, refrigeration is not required – but it is always safe if you prefer.

Why did you choose glass instead of plastic?

Omega-3 oils are extremely delicate, and plastic containers can create several problems over time. Not only is plastic permeable to oxygen, which can cause oils to oxidize and go rancid faster, but certain plastics may also leach unwanted compounds into the oil itself.

We wanted to avoid exposing your pet’s omega-3 supplement to:

  • Excess oxygen
  • Microplastics
  • BPA/BPS compounds
  • PFAS and other chemical contaminants often associated with plastics

It may seem like a small detail, but for a sensitive oil like omega-3s, the container truly matters.

Why does this oil look darker/red?

That rich color comes from astaxanthin – a natural antioxidant found in krill.

It helps:
• Protect the oil from oxidation
• Support cellular health
• Add an extra layer of nutritional benefit

What is the shelf life of the krill oil?

Our Antarctic Krill Oil has a shelf life of at least 18 months when stored properly in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Because omega-3 oils are naturally delicate, we took extra care with our packaging choices to help protect freshness and stability. The combination of:

• Glass packaging instead of plastic
• An air-limiting closure system
• Naturally occurring astaxanthin antioxidants

helps maintain the quality and integrity of the oil over time.

For best freshness, we recommend using the product consistently once opened and storing it with the lid securely closed between uses.

What is the difference between ethyl ester, triglyceride, and phospholipid omega-3s?

Not all omega-3s are structured the same – and the form they are delivered in can affect how well your pet’s body absorbs and uses them.

There are three common forms of omega-3s found in supplements:

  1. Ethyl Ester (EE) → A processed form often used in concentrated fish oils. This form does not naturally occur in fish and must be converted by the body before it can be fully utilized.
  2. Triglycerides (TG) → The natural fat form found in most fish oils and whole fish. This form is generally better absorbed than ethyl esters.
  3. Phospholipids (PL) → The form found in krill oil. Phospholipids are a major component of cell membranes, making them especially compatible with how the body transports and utilizes omega-3s.

Why does this matter?

  • Phospholipid omega-3s help:
  • Absorb more efficiently
  • Travel more easily through the bloodstream
  • Deliver EPA and DHA directly into cells
  • Provide more benefits with smaller serving sizes

Krill oil also naturally contains astaxanthin, an antioxidant that helps protect the delicate oils from oxidation.

In simple terms:

  • Ethyl esters are highly processed.
  • Triglycerides are natural.
  • Phospholipids are natural and highly bioavailable.

Are there any side effects or risks with krill oil?

Krill oil is very safe for both cats and dogs when used as directed. Because it is a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids, some pets may experience mild digestive upset if too much is introduced too quickly.

Possible temporary side effects can include:
• Loose stool
• Softer stool
• Mild stomach upset

Starting with a smaller amount and gradually increasing to the recommended serving can help sensitive pets adjust comfortably.

If your pet has a bleeding disorder, is taking blood-thinning medications, or has a medical condition requiring dietary restrictions, it is always best to consult your veterinarian before starting any new supplement.

As with any marine-based ingredient, discontinue use if your pet shows signs of sensitivity or intolerance.

What if my pet is allergic to fish?

Krill are small crustaceans, not fish, so some pets with fish sensitivities may tolerate krill oil differently than traditional fish oil products.

Veterinary science and immunology show that a pet with a finned fish allergy can safely consume pure krill oil. They belong to completely different biological categories.

That said, every pet is unique. If your cat or dog has a known seafood allergy or history of food sensitivities, we recommend introducing any new supplement slowly and monitoring closely for signs of intolerance.

Does krill oil contain antioxidants?

Yes! One of the unique benefits of krill oil is that it naturally contains astaxanthin, a powerful antioxidant found in Antarctic krill.

Astaxanthin helps:
• Protect the delicate omega-3 oils from oxidation
• Support cellular health
• Help combat oxidative stress in the body

This natural antioxidant is one reason krill oil is often considered more stable than many traditional fish oils.

The deep reddish color of krill oil comes naturally from astaxanthin, with no artificial colors or additives needed.

How long will a bottle last for my cat or dog?

  • Cats & small dogs: up to 4 months
  • Medium dogs: about 2 months
  • Large dogs: about 1 month

Another expensive reject. My girl is the most persnickety and discerning feline I’ve ever met. Now that she has CKD it’s even more so the case. This was not wanted in any way shape or form. More money down the trash can drain but I’ll try anything for my girl, that’s just what I do!

Good stuff but my cats are picky with this. Jenn gave me advice to try sardines to put it on and or start with a small amount first to see if they will get used to it. I had to do that with the vita x and now I can put a full dose of that.
